We recently received a call for the new owners of brokerage Dufour 525. We had come highly recommended for mattresses and bedding by their broker Will at Denison Yacht Sales in Marina Del Rey California. Our clients were very excited with their new purchase, and rightfully so. The Dufour 525 was named Cruising World’s Best Full Size Cruiser in 2009. The 525 is the flag ship of their Grand Large Range. Their yacht is designed for cruising and very well appointed, but being that it was a brokerage boat, they wanted new mattresses and bedding to really put their mark, and personal touch, on the décor. We met up while they were at a guest slip in Long Beach Harbor and provided our One Day Boat Show, where we bring all of our fabrics and a range of lay down mattress samples to the customers marina so they can lay down and decide which mattress is right for them. They chose our most popular model, the 9” latex pillow top, with a medium firm base and a soft top. To protect the mattress we made a waterproof mattress pad cover. White 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and a Diamond Matelasse coverlet and matching shams really pop against the beautiful wood interior. They also chose our custom synthetic-down bed pillows to really fill out their shams. After delivering their bedding and mattress, they asked if we could take a look at their cockpit cushions. Making custom cockpit cushions is a service we provide in Southern California. We ended up doing all new 3” dry fast foam cushions for the cockpit, and 4” dry fast foam cushions for the stern area, which will make laying out and lounging very comfortable. The fabric used is Sunbrella Posh Oat from their Fusion collection. We did piping along the top to give a custom look. Four 18” outdoor, down- alternative, throw pillows were done instead of back cushions. Custom made pillow weights ensure that these pillows won’t blow away while the boat is under sail. The Dufour 525 is one of over 700 different boats that we have patterned and on file. Let’s make your stateroom a STATEMENT room!
