rincess Yachts, like all the best dreams, started small – in a rented shed which sits opposite the current Newport Street site, where we built our first boat in 1965. We got to work on bedding for a 2015 Princess 56 Motor Yacht and I’ll tell you all about what we did. First, in the Primary, our Nine-Inch Organic Hayval Latex Mattress. It is the world’s first custom natural mattress, made specifically for the marine environment. The Hayval is a mattress free of polyurethane foams, chemical fire retardants, and as close to 100% organic as possible. The unique construction starts with a proprietary layered six-inch organic latex base and is topped with a two-inch extra plush natural Talalay Eurotop. It is covered in Certified Organic Cotton and quilted with both natural cotton and natural Joma Wool from New Zealand.  We use wool for several reasons, not only is it antimicrobial, but it also offers natural temperature control and acts as a natural fire barrier.

Next on the bed, you’ll find our Mattress Pad Cover to add extra protection to that brand new mattress. In the Forward, our Mattress Pad Cover with the most luxurious Matouk Gatsby sheet set with matching Matouk Gatsby Standard Shams. At 1000 thread count, Giza 87 Egyptian Cotton you really cannot get more luxurious. They did a Matouk Bergamo white Duvet Cover with a Matouk Libero Summer Weight Duvet Insert.

For the Starboard Inboard and Outboard Bunks, they did our Hayval Silver Quilts with matching Standard Shams and super cute Octopus Throw Pillows and Throw Blankets. The Crew Bed got a functional Italian Coverlet with matching shams and our Gin and Bale Sheet Set. The boat was all set for everyone to get a great night sleep out on the ocean.
