he 2024 Fountaine Pajot 45 Elba in the 3 cabin layout is a catamaran that truly understands how people want to live on the water. Bright, modern, and incredibly spacious, the Elba 45 offers the perfect balance of performance and comfort, with private staterooms that feel more like boutique hotel rooms than boat cabins. With generous headroom, wide berths, and beautiful natural light, this yacht is made for long stays aboard and effortless entertaining, so the bedding needed to feel just as thoughtful as the design of the boat itself.

We started in the Aft Port Stateroom, where we added a custom 3 inch Latex Topper to instantly elevate the existing mattress. Our Latex Toppers are made with 2 inches of soft latex and topped with 1 inch of plush bamboo quilting, creating a surface that is both supportive and comfortable. Adding a Custom Mattress Topper is one of the most cost effective ways to enhance comfort on board, especially when you are not quite ready to replace a stock mattress or are working with a multi cushion berth. Each Topper is custom made to fit your existing mattress or berth perfectly and includes a nonslip underlining to keep everything in place, even when the boat is underway.

To protect the mattress, we added one of our Custom Mattress Protector, designed to fit like a fitted sheet and provide a washable layer of protection. Made with a soft cashmere and polyester blend, it is the perfect complement to the topper and mattress underneath. Mattress protectors are intended to protect your mattress and will not change the comfort, but they go a long way in keeping everything fresh and clean.

The bed was then dressed with the Matouk Jasper Sheet Set in the color Dune, which includes a fitted sheet, flat sheet, and two standard pillowcases. Jasper features a signature Matouk print inspired by the pebbled texture of shagreen and is crafted from silky smooth sateen sheeting. It has a contemporary feel that works beautifully in the Elba’s modern interior and is available in a range of refreshing colors, making it easy to design a layered look that still feels calm and cohesive.

We carried the Jasper fabric through with a Custom Duvet Cover in the same Dune color. Our Duvet Covers are tailored slightly to the shape of your bed but left with enough length to cover you properly while sleeping. Depending on the berth, they can be tucked or folded for a clean finished look during the day. Inside the duvet, we added one of our custom duvet inserts, made from a down alternative with a low to medium loft that provides warmth and comfort without feeling bulky, perfect for life on the water.

To add contrast and texture, we layered in two standard shams in Matouk Pearl in Almond. These shams are made from 100 percent Egyptian cotton and feature a beautifully polished matelassé with an opalescent sheen that gives the bed a soft, elevated glow. The Aft Port Stateroom was finished with two 18 inch throw pillows from our showroom floor and a 14 by 24 inch lumbar pillow in an upgraded performance fabric from Thibaut called Grassmarket Check in Navy, bringing in just the right amount of pattern and personality.

Custom Yacht Bedding

The Aft Starboard Stateroom received the same beautiful setup, with a few practical tweaks. In this room, we used a Waterproof Mattress Protector for extra peace of mind, and the Duvet Cover was added without an insert so it could be used more like a blanket. We switched up the accent pillows here as well, using two different 18 inch throw pillows from our showroom and a 14 by 24 inch lumbar pillow in an Upgraded Performance Fabric from Stout called Stitch in the color Tangerine, adding a fun pop of color to the space.

In the Forward Starboard Stateroom, we kept the same foundation of comfort and linens but changed the pillows again to give the room its own personality. Two standard shams were made in performance Thibaut Iggy in the color Desert, and we added two 14 by 24 inch throw pillows, one in Thibaut Stony Brook in Blush and one in Stony Brook in Spa Blue. The result is a Cabin that feels relaxed, fresh, and a little playful, perfect for guests or family.

This project did not stop at the dock. The owners loved our showroom pillows so much that they took two green ones home to use in their house, and we also made them a custom 14 by 24 inch throw pillow for home in Thibaut Grassmarket Check in Forest Green. When your boat bedding is so good you want it at home too, we consider that a win.
