Azimut 42 Gets a New Look

The Azimut 42 is Italian styling at its best in a midsize motoryacht. Built on a deep-V hull with prop pockets to level the engines, the versatile layout of the Azimut 42 makes her perfect for entertaining and cruising. The cockpit is large enough for outdoor meals, and the 42’s large flybridge rivals anything in her class for comfort and amenities. Entering from the covered cockpit, the interior—a blend of high-gloss cherry cabinets, cream-colored leather upholstery, and deep pile carpeting—is unusually bright and open thanks to the vast amount of window space.

A big C-shaped settee and adjustable dining table are to starboard, across from a smaller settee and entertainment cabinet to port. Forward and two steps up is the lower helm. The galley is to port, down a few steps where it’s out of view. The large master stateroom features an island queen berth and twin hanging lockers, and the guest stateroom across from the galley has side-by-side berths.

We had so much fun working with these two ladies that co-own the boat together because they weren’t afraid to have some fun with fabrics! We did our new style Italian Coverlets, which allow you to have the fun of our great fabric selections and you’re able to sleep under them, a blanket isn’t needed but is still recommended.

For the Master we went animal with Sunbrella Namibia Grey for the Italian Coverlet, Shams and 14×24” decorative pillows along with 3 18” Sunbrella Pique Shale decorative pillows. As this is seen from the saloon and the clients used Sunbrella Instinct Espresso and Outdrua Flurry Whiskey 18” decorative pillows, it was an easy choice to keep the animal prints going. The Guest Bunk room was a but more subdued with classic navy and white.

We did customs 3” Latex toppers, mattress pad covers, and Matouk sheets sets in Nocturne Navy (a solid) and Matouk Ansonia (navy trim shown). Beautiful crisp Custom Diamond White Matelasse blankets are under Outdura Loft Midnight Italian Coverlets. Instead of shams for these beds the client opted for a reversible Sunbrella Agra Indigo fabric on 14×24” decorative pillows which are just the perfect accent and bring a sort of tribal vibe in.
