The Beneteau Oceanis 38.1 is such a great design and can be used in so many different capacities. From day sailing to overnights and long trips, this boat has it all. It seems as though most of our clients have the 2 cabin model. The big difference we see on the staterooms would be that the pads are no longer upholstered. The only thing to think about, in terms of bedding, would be the small cushion in the aft cabin.
To get a finished look, we would suggest a cover for that cushion that either compliments the bedding or something that is a contrast and differentiates that area as a convenient seat to put shoes on, etc. A 2″ latex mattress topper is always a popular choice for the forward cabin. It adds a great deal of comfort and feels as though you have a new mattress. Custom bedding that fits around the topper and the existing cushions keep everything in place. Our quilted coverlets, this particular bed is shown in Nile from out Midnight Sail Collection, are very easy to make since we minimize the need to tuck everything in. We understand that it is nearly impossible to make the bed, while you are on the bed, which is why we minimize the tucking. Since you need coverage at the head and shoulders, you will however need to tuck in the flat sheet and blanket. Since it is custom made for the bed, it is much easier to make than store bought bedding. Let us know if you have any questions about outfitting your Oceanis 38 or Oceanis 38.1, we have all patterns on file.
