T

he DeFever 60 Yacht is a true classic in long range cruising. Known for its solid construction, timeless profile, and liveaboard comfort, this yacht was designed for owners who value reliability, space, and the ability to spend extended time on the water. From its thoughtful layout to its generous accommodations, the DeFever 60 has earned its reputation as a yacht built for serious cruising and relaxed living.

For this particular DeFever 60, we had the pleasure of upgrading the crew quarters by creating custom mattresses for both the top and bottom bunks. The goal was to dramatically improve comfort while still respecting the unique dimensions and structure of the yacht. We designed and installed a 5 inch latex mattress for the top bunk and a 7 inch latex mattress for the bottom bunk, ensuring each sleeping area felt supportive, breathable, and comfortable for daily use.

Each mattress features a premium latex core covered in ultra soft bamboo quilting, a combination we call The Commodore IS comfort. Latex is an ideal material for yachts because it is naturally mold and mildew resistant, which is essential in a marine environment. It is also extremely comfortable and supportive, providing pressure relief without sacrificing structure. One of the biggest advantages of latex is its ability to help regulate body heat, allowing you to sleep cooler even in warmer climates. It is also bendable and breathable, making it perfect for tight spaces and custom marine applications. These mattresses are available in Soft, Medium Firm, and Firm, allowing every sleeper to find the right level of comfort.
