When the first Hatteras splashed in 1959 it forever changed what the world could expect from a sportfishing boat. In fact, the Knit Wits was the first fiberglass boat over 40’. From this landmark beginning, innovation and performance have informed every chapter of Hatteras’ storied history.

We did a mattress refresh on a 2007 Hatteras 64 Motor Yacht out in San Diego and want to tell you all about it. In the Aft Master Stateroom we did our 9” Latex Pillowtop Mattress. We turn the dial to 11 by constructing your mattress with a super comfy 6” Latex core. We then add 2” of ultra soft latex Pillow Top and cover it in the plushest of bamboo quilting. The result is truly The Leader of the Fleet! The benefits of a latex mattress include being mold and mildew resistant, extremely comfortable, latex helps regulate body heat, which allows you to sleep cooler, and it will not absorb smells. To protect the brand new mattress, we did a Mattress Protector. Our custom mattress protectors are designed to fit over your mattress like a fitted sheet and provide a washable layer of protection. Made with a soft Cashmere and poly blend, it’s the perfect complement to your new mattress. Mattress protectors are intended to solely provide a layer of protection for your mattress and will not increase the comfort of your mattress. They went with the same set up for the Forward Stateroom and for the Inboard and Outboard smaller bunks we did our 7” Full Latex Mattress with Mattress Protectors for these beds as well. They were all set with new mattresses ready to hit the seas for a great night sleep out on the ocean!
