In 2008 Boating Magazine tested and reviewed over 150 different boats.   As the story goes; at year end when as the writers and editors were deliberating between the two finalists for Boat of The Year, a last-minute entry, a dark horse if you will, cruised right in, stole the show and was featured on the December cover of Boating Magazine as the 2008 Boat of the Year.  That boat, the Chaparral 400 Premier, is one of our most recent stateroom make overs.  The Chaparral 400 Premier Cabin is well appointed with a dark, grainy hardwood sole and rich walnut doors, cabinets and trim.  Our clients still had the original factory bed spreads and were ready to make their stateroom a reflection of their own personal style.  They are duvet sleepers at home and decided that instead of a traditional decorative bedspread, or quilted coverlet, they wanted a custom duvet that was both stylish, functional, AND made a statement!  We made a custom down alternative duvet to follow the lines of their bed.  Since many beds on boats have a large radius at the foot or are almost always oddly shaped, an off the rack duvet would be have way too much extra material…so custom is the only way to go.  For the custom duvet cover we used Sunbrella’s Savvy Sangria from the Sunbrella Fusion collection and on the back we used our 600 thread count Egyptian cotton sheeting to match their custom sheet set.  Under the duvet is our super soft and lux Saturday Quilt blanket with matching shams.  To add some additional pops of color and texture we did custom throw pillows in Sunbrella’s Posh Coral and Demo Denim.  So many boaters are amazed at the array of color, textures and patterns that Sunbrella offers thinking of Sunbrealla only for outdoor tops, enclosures and covers.  While rated for outdoor use, Sunbrella upholstery fabrics offer not only soft and rich textures but the performance that many boaters need for their interiors along with such a diverse color pallet that they can be sure that their boat will look unique and make the statement that they desire.  The Chaparral 400 premiere is one of over 1000 different boats that we have on file.
